Jonathan Bryan (Deaconsfield) and ‘Archie’ the Ambulance, being presented a cheque for £300 by Business FirstBusiness First Member Jonathan Bryan, MD of Deaconsfield Financial Planning Ltd took part in the Bangers to Budapest road trip, which involved driving almost 4000 miles around Europe to raise money for First Responders - a charity providing emergency medical aid to people in the local community.

Jonathan and his wife Emma acquired a 13 year old ambulance from Gnosall and District Community First Responders and drove it through France, Germany, Austria, Slovenia and Hungary to Budapest and back to raise money for the charity.

Current Chair of Business First, Colette Bratton says “Jonathan has given so much to this cause. Not only has he donated 10 days of his life travelling across Europe in an old banger, but he’s donated personal money to fund the trip.  We hope that the £300 we’ve donated will help him get closer to his goal of raising £10,000 for First Responders in 2007”.

First Responders is a charity made up of a group of volunteers who are trained by Staffordshire Ambulance Service to provide emergency medical aid to people living and working in the local community. Because they are called to emergencies near to where they live, they can be with a patient more quickly than an ambulance crew and provide first aid straightaway. Their aim is to help the ambulance service, not replace it.
